Your wedding day is the most important and special day of your life. It all happens so quickly though and in no time at all the guests are departing at the end of the wedding reception. We understand that your honeymoon is the time where you spend those precious moments in the company of each other - the time where you make those memories that last forever. During your stay in Cairo we will take you to visit the Great Sphinx and see the pyramids of Khufu, Khafra and Menkaura on the Giza plateau. You will also enjoy a visit to the magnificent Egyptian museum where you will see artefacts from the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms as well as the golden treasures of Tutankhamen.

 

Your first night in Cairo will be spent relaxing after your journey to Egypt. On your second night, your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to the famous Cairo Tower where you will enjoy a romantic meal just for the two of you. The restaurant rotates at 610 ft (187m) above the ground and provides spectacular 360 degree views of Cairo and the Great Western Desert beyond. One rotation of the restaurant takes approximately 70 minutes which will allow you enough time to linger over your meal and relax as the breathtaking panorama of Cairo unfolds before your eyes.

No visit to Egypt would be complete without seeing the ancient stepped pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara. Arguably the oldest substantial stone building in the world. Designed by the famous architect Imhotep, the pyramid complex has been carefully restored to give an accurate impression of this eternal Earthly residence for the soul of the departed king. Included in this visit is the tombs of the nobles from the 5th and 6th dynasties. Following your visit to Saqqara, you will return to Cairo and spend some time at leisure before enjoying an evening meal on a luxurious Nile Cruise ship as it sails the ancient and enduring Nile river offering views of the exciting and sprawling metropolis which is modern-day Cairo.

Luxor is the next port of call and time spent in this ancient capital of the New Kingdom Pharaohs, known as the City of a Hundred gates, will find you in the perfect location for visits to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and Luxor and Karnak Temples.

After a busy day visiting the sites of antiquities, what better way to unwind on your honeymoon than to sit back and enjoy the sunset over the Nile from the deck of a felluca, where the only sound is that of the ropes straining through the pulleys as the evening breeze tightens the sails and you drift along on the placid waters.

A great extra to include in your honeymoon itinerary is a hot-air balloon ride at dawn over the Great Theban Necropolis. Your pilot will take the balloon close to the mountain range that sits on the very edge of the vast desert plain before sweeping up into the dawn sky, just as the sun rises, and revealing the hidden secrets of the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and all of the ancient tombs and mortuary temples of the New Kingdom. Even Howard Carter's house, where he stayed when searching for and excavating Tutankhamen's tomb can still be seen on its lofty perch above the hidden valleys.

From Luxor you can extend your honeymoon with either a Nile Cruise or a relaxing visit to a Red Sea resort.

A Nile Cruise will take you from Luxor to Aswan (or vice versa) where you will enjoy visits to all of the major sites along the way, including: The Temple of Horus at Edfu, The Temple of Isis on Philae Island, Kom Ombo Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Aswan High Dam. It seems that every minute the scenery changes and you can enjoy drinks on the top deck as you watch the timeless scenes of everyday life drift by on the banks of the Nile.

If sunbathing and swimming is more your scene then the Red Sea offers some of the best beaches, sea-life and coral reefs in the world - some say only second to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
